This role is based in our Sandbach, Cheshire office, working closely with colleagues in our Gibraltar office.
Standard working hours are currently 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, with core working hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm, during which additional times (either between 8-9am and 5-6pm) you may take advantage of a flexible working system.

A flexible working scheme is in operation, which permits you to work extra time, to in turn benefit from an extra leave day in each following month. If taken advantage of, this increases the total number of leave days to 40 per annum including bank/public holidays from the standard 28 days including bank/public holidays.
This is a position for a commercial lines insurance broker and the salary offered will be from £17,500 depending on experience and knowledge.
We are looking to recruit an insurance broker who has, as a minimum, previously been employed as a trainee within the insurance industry, having at least 3 years commercial industry experience. Applications from industry professionals within the personal lines arena, with suitable experience, are also welcome. Please note the interview process will incorporate situational and knowledge testing.
Summary:
To assist with offering a comprehensive insurance service to existing and potential new customers in the commercial or commercial new business department, in accordance with own competencies, granted authorities and company policies, guidelines and procedures.
Main duties:
To assist with offering a comprehensive insurance service to existing and potential new customers. This will involve administrative duties on all types of General Insurance via the telephone, face to face or in writing. Take instructions from existing customers in respect of alterations to current policies, ensuring insurers are notified and records updated. Offer renewal of existing clients’ policies with current insurer or move to new insurer, as appropriate within agreed competencies. In each case, ensure relevant documentation is issued, premium is collected and relevant records and diary entries are created. Check thoroughly all client documentation before dispatch, ensuring queries are raised and amendments completed. Assist customers with queries relating to claims, either by direct involvement with the insurer concerned, if appropriate, or providing contact names and telephone numbers for customer own direct contact. Assist with promotional activities of the business, including cross selling to new and existing clients, and prospects. Assist with marketing campaigns including authorised use of social media as required. Any other duties that may be required by your Manager in accordance with the nature of this job.
Qualifications:
5 GCSEs grade 4-9 (A-C or equivalent) including English Language and Maths at grade 5/C required.
Attainment or progress with CII professional examinations would be desirable, although not mandatory.
